The future is looking bright! Well, in terms of fashion at least. The year is starting to wind down, so it is time we look ahead to 2019 and see what fashion trends will be popping up everywhere.
The key word there is definitely “pop” because neon is back! We have been seeing glimmers of neon show up this season, but it is officially back for the new year. So in order to prep for this new look, here are some styling tips for rocking your favorite neon colors:
Accessories - My go-to suggestion to anyone who wants to try a new style or trend, but is a little hesitant, is to start small through accessories. You can rock a primarily black or other color outfits but add a pop through your purse or another accessory. It is definitely a small step in the right direction and will warm you up to the idea of wearing some seriously bright clothes. Multiple designers are releasing neon bags, belts, heels, and even slides.
Outerwear - Most of the time, bright colors make people think of summer and warm weather, but since neon is coming back now during winter and into spring, our favorite look is to add neon to your outerwear. Most Athleisure brands have neon hoodies right now and these make for perfect street style or if you want to channel your inner Kylie Jenner with a bulky sweatshirt.
Dress it Up - The runways have already started to show us some dresses that are solid neon! The trend first made its comeback in the Prada show this fall. Now, stores like ASOS and Zara have dresses available. These are great for parties and other fun occasions. These dresses are here, and they will be here well into 2019 meaning get ready for a fun and colorful spring season.
Combine Trends - As we have mentioned in past articles and Instagram pictures, trends like animal print and plaid are super on-point right now. If you are feeling good about these trends, consider combining neon with either of them. Some plaid styles on the market are incorporating neon into the print, and the same thing is going for animal print, specifically with leopard spots. For instance, Topshop has a leopard faux fur jacket right now with neon accents in some of the spots.
Get ready to add some more bright colors to your wardrobe for 2019! These new colors will add tons of new options to your style, so don’t be afraid to experiment and try new things with them.
